Online Practice to Apply Learning from Writing Lessons
The Writing A-Z Process Writing Workshop makes online practice of the writing process easy with step-by-step instructions to create compositions for different text types. Each step guides writers at the four developmental writing levels with resources such as level-appropriate graphic organizers, revision checklists, editing guides, and writing tips. Helpful, engaging characters review each step in detailed videos if students need additional support with each text type.
Online writing practice for different text types within the Process Writing Workshop saves you time and paper and gives you an easy way to track students' writing progress over time in our Kids A-Z management hub.
The Process Writing Workshop pairs well with the writing instruction provided in Writing A-Z's Process Writing Lessons so that students transition easily from instruction to practice.
The Process Writing Workshop also presents developmentally appropriate resources to each student based on the writing level you select when you roster your students in Kids A-Z. Rubrics provide the details that you need to inform writing instruction for individual students.
How to Use Leveled Books
Assign online process writing practice after you have used the Writing A-Z Process Writing Lesson for a text type available in the tool. Or have students choose which text type to practice in the interactive Kids A-Z student-learning environment after you have introduced several.
Each completed composition comes to your Kids A-Z In Basket, where you can score each piece of student writing. Rubrics help you to determine the developmental writing level of each composition and to assess how well students understand the traits of good writing.
Motivate students to create good writing by publishing their compositions to the Kids Writing Library for your class from your In Basket.
